Scoring System
Precision is Everything

Case Sensitivity
You can write your answers in all CAPITAL LETTERS or lower case. Most examiners recommend ALL CAPS to avoid handwriting issues.

Core IELTS Listening Strategies
Master the key techniques that top scorers use to maximize their band score.
The Prediction Strategy
Use the 30-45 seconds before the audio starts to read the questions and predict the type of information needed (Name, Date, Number, Adjective).
Impact on Score
"Reduces cognitive load and helps you spot the answer instantly when it's spoken."
Signpost Word Identification
Listen for words like 'however', 'finally', 'moving on to', or 'actually'. These signals indicate that the speaker is changing topic or correcting an earlier statement.
Impact on Score
"Prevents you from falling for distractors (traps)."
Multi-Tasking mastery
Train yourself to listen to the current answer while reading the next two questions simultaneously.
Impact on Score
"Ensures you don't get 'lost' in the audio if you miss one answer."
The Universal Listening Workflow
Follow these 4 steps for every section to ensure 100% accuracy.
Predict
Read the questions. Guess the grammar (noun/verb) and topic.
Listen & Note
Write the answers as you hear them. Don't worry about spelling yet.
Verify
Check if the answer makes sense in the context of the sentence.
Transfer
Double-check spelling and plural 's' during the transfer time.
Master Strategy: The 'Parallel Thinking'
Always be looking at the next question even while waiting for the answer to the current one. If you hear the information for the next question, it means you missed the current one-let it go immediately and focus on what's coming next.
